Katie has developed Practical Horse People to bring real equine science to horse owners for easy, simple solutions.
Being around horses all of her life, from groom to competitor, Katie had come up against the problems of rugging up sensitive horses, bringing on youngsters, preparing for show work and more. In search of answers Katie studied a degree in Psychology and went on to specialise in animal behaviour, specifically equine psychology.
Working alongside renowned behaviourists, researchers and trainers throughout Europe. Katie continued her development, putting all theory into practice before advising techniques to others.After qualifying and applying her knowledge on her own horses, many owners began to learn of her expertise and asked for her services for their own horses.
Katie brings practical solutions to all in a fully comprehensive way. No gadgets, jargon or coercion, just simple, positive advice and support to give owners the power to make life-long changes.
Maintaining her high standards, Katie attends regular CPD and holds membership with a number of organisations, keeping up to date with current research to stay on top of all developments in this specialist area. Katie assists larger rescue centres such as the RSPCA, as well as yards, riding schools and individuals.
As well as one-to-one consultations, Katie regularly provides clinics to groups to continue this education to the wider population.
