Within the equine industry there are many types of trainers and behaviourists, all using different techniques. Katie does not believe in directly training your horse. This is because she finds it more successful to teach life-long skills to owners - they do not need to rely on her in the future as they become the experts too!

HOW LONG DO SOLUTIONS TAKE?

Sorry but this is going to be a vague answer, as all horses and their owners have different learning rates, and some problems are more complex than others. Some behaviours may only take a few days to resolve, provided enough owner partake. Many of the problems that Katie is called out to see, are deeply learnt by the horse, becoming more complex and therefore taking longer to resolve. The key is to make changes as soon as you notice a problem - the longer you leave it the longer resolution will take.

WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMON CAUSES OF PROBLEMS?

The most common causes of behavioural problems that Katie is called out to assist with range considerably. From previous pain or pressure, a lack of confidence in owner, or even restrictions through management routine. Simple advice and education, along with step-by-step guides to solutions are key.

WHAT IF I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM?

Well this is great! But we can always achieve more. As Katie provides owners with the advice and practical skills to applyto their horses, from day one, throughout life, whether you want to train new behaviours, bring on young horses, prepare for competition or future events. This preventative training helps to ensure a happier and safer interaction between horse and human.
